As you use Gmail, you must have seen the “Sign-in with Google” buttons as well as being able to install 3rd party apps (e.g. from Drive).
Suppose your are an organizations security admin, and you wanted to control which applications your users may or may not install, by 1) specifying applications (e.g. this app may or may not be installed for this user) 2) specifying permissions (e.g. some users mayr or may not install apps that have access to their drive but may or may not install apps that just want to look at their email address)
Unluckily for you, Google does not offer this capability and you either have to block all apps for all users (and face their wrath) or open all apps for all users (and get screwed by some evil site that asked for too many permissions, or an app that had access to you users drive and deleted it all?).
